On the weekend of 2-4 October 2009 UnionsACT and YOUACT (the ACT young unionist group) are hosting the 2009 National Young Unionists and Workers Conference in the UnionsACT Canberra conference centre. This is the third annual conference of its type with previous ones in: 2007 hosted by U-Who and SAUnions 2008 hosted by Victorian Young Unionist Network and VTHC

About YouthWorks
YouthWorks is a new network of young unionists from across Australia. By young people for young people, YouthWorks is standing up for justice and equality in the workplace. Growing the union movement through engaging young workers across all industries.
The goals of YouthWorks are:
- To grow and invigorate the labour movement by targeting young workers across all industries to ensure an active and strong membership into the future.
- To bring together state based youth unionist and activist networks around common goals.
- To lobby government and key stakeholders on issues that concern young workers.
- To provide young unionists with the opportunity to be involved in campaigning and winning on young worker issues.
- To build a relationship with the media to ensure youth worker issues are both a priority for the press and in the community.
